Soothing Sound of Water from a Masterfully Made Fountain

Wall FountainThis masterpiece of a water fountain was custom made for our client. The back of the house faces a busy street and we wanted to do something special to screen out the traffic and create some privacy for our clients to relax and enjoy their outdoor living space. The rustic and elegant design for the wall thought to create a private nook with small arched windows to let light into the space and create interest beyond the wall. A simple but elegant fountain has water falling out of a copper pipe into a basin that cascades down into a larger fluted basin where water trickles out to a patio level pool. The water falling creates an orchestra of relaxing bubbling sound. The browns and tans of the background tile contrast in color and texture with the strong balance of the stucco wall. As mists of water coats the flagstone patio, a shiny sheen appears and gives the flagstone a golden color. Glazed ceramic garden pots from Creative Living give life to plants and add smooth shapes to the corner making for a balanced view.

Outdoor Grill on the Patio

Outdoor Kitchen with concrete cook top

The openness of this yard has great views of the golf course. It was lacking a place to take advantage of the view and large yard. Mile High Landscaping designed and built this with dimension cut flagstone mortared to a new patio. One of the main points was to incorporate an outdoor kitchen into the patio. The BBQ station is large enough to entertain while cooking up some nice steaks. The counter top is a custom and unique smooth concrete top found in many high-end homes today. The entire kitchen was coated in tan stucco to match the house’s exterior. This space is fantastic for entertaining family and guests.

Relaxing Oasis in Castle Pines

There’s just nothing like spending a warm summer night outside in the open air with your loved ones around a glowing fireplace. We created this relaxing oasis in Castle Pines, by using these meandering slab stairs to lead to this cozy outdoor space. Natural stone stairs are great accent for your yard or they can be used as an entrance to your home. If you are serious about incorporating fire in to your outdoor living, consider building a permanent stone fire pit, it will instantly take your backyard to a new level! Outdoor stone fire pits are unique, they combine elegance and durability. This flagstone patio with a built in fireplace will allow the home owners to enjoy the warm weather, relax after a long day at work, enjoy a glass of wine, or read a book.

Shape Up and Get Modern

Bringing your old backyard landscape up to date with modern design will not only raise your property value; but can also add hints of texture, pattern, and a clean geometric look giving a touch of comfort and class to any property.

This particular project from South Denver showcases a prime example on how Mexican beach pebbles and custom concrete steppers give a smooth streamlined lead into the lawn area, complimented by a 90º partition and raised deck. This gives a subtle, yet multi-dimensional transition from the propane fire pit to the main patio.

Did I mention patterns and congruent shapes are known to sooth the mind? So just relax….. give us a call for a fair and square estimate on your future landscaping needs.

Bringing the Indoors Outside- Colorado Style

Here in Colorado we like to take full advantage of our outdoor living spaces. This is a beautiful example how to compliment your home and garden by creating a transition between the two spaces. This raised flagstone patio feels much more like an extension of the house because of the overhead arbor and surrounding seat walls. We have enhanced the atmosphere and ultimately tied in the indoor/ outdoor experience by the presence of a water feature that also serves as a focal point for the dining area.
Whether entertaining dinner guests with an outdoor kitchen, or just enjoying your summer evenings; you’ll find a new favorite place to gather and enjoy our 300 days of sunshine in comfort and style.
