Beautiful and Flowing Landscape Garden Steps in Denver

Outdoor Flagstone Steps

The transition from lower flagstone patio to the upper garden was made using these native sandstone slab stairs set into the existing hillside. The flagstone stairs were designed to curve through this natural setting so you can enjoy the blooming flowers and lush green trees lining the stairs to the top.  The large boulders are the same stones as the steps but with more natural hues of brown, greys, and gold. Not only were the stones placed for color accents but they also serve a purpose of retaining the hillside and slowing down the pathway so you can stop and sit and enjoy the garden around it. We wanted to be able to use the flagstone path in the evening and installed LED lights that line the stairs for safe walking at night after a family gathering by the outdoor fire pit. Sturdy and reliable these stairs will last a very long time.

Unique Outdoor Living Space in Castle Pines

Outdoor Living Space

Bring the indoors out with this unique Castle Pines outdoor living space. Mile High Landscaping created this outdoor living space from the deck to the roof above. With easy access from the home out to the grilling area which transitions into a seating area with a wood burning fire place and outdoor television to catch the game while entertaining your friends and family. On movie night, the custom outdoor curtains can be drawn to block out exterior lights while eating popcorn and watching a family favorite movie. To extend the outdoor season we installed a heater above to take the chill away when those cooler temperatures arrive in Castle Pines. The outdoor custom built fire place is the focal point and built using a rustic wood mantle balanced above the stucco and stone veneer fascia. The cantilevered roof was engineered and then installed by the Mile High Landscaping experts and has a beautiful cedar wood grain board that adds warmth to the space.

Contemporary outdoor heaven in Denver City

A modern pergola and decorative concrete patio creates the perfect outdoor dining area for this beautiful outdoor space.  Telescope Casual outdoor dining set matches the pergola’s simple modern style. The custom picked chairs add a nice splash of color. Just a simple white ceramic lantern offers romantic candle light after dark. Custom made contemporary looking steel trellises create privacy and add some dimension.

The second patio was created for romantic evenings and entertaining. There is no better way to enjoy your outdoor living space in the evening than by firing up your custom built fire pit. Just imagine sitting around this fire pit and enjoying the nighttime sky in the wintertime!

The rectangular shapes of the elements create an edgy sense for this outdoor space.

Enjoy the crackle of the fire!

Even when the air begins to cool down, we still love spending time outside, especially around the fire pit on those chilly autumn nights. By adding a fire feature as part of your landscaping it will extend your enjoyment of the outdoors. It’s also a great way to gather family and friends and spend quality time together. If the fire feature is placed where it can be easily seen from yourinterior livingspace, it can be enjoyed from the indoors as well and can serve as an important focal point in your outdoor landscape design. Grab your favorite book, a glass of wine and enjoy the crackle of the fire!

Courtyards

The sky is the limit when it comes to courtyards and landscaping ideas. A courtyard is a fun nook that gives you the taste of the outdoors but also offers privacy. We blended indoors with outdoors by creating this courtyard in the Greenwood Village area. Every window in the house opens to the outside, so the home owners can enjoy the view of their courtyard from every room in the house. We also installed landscape lighting, so they can enjoy the beauty of the outdoors in the evening with the glow of the lit landscape. We chose boulders to build the water feature by letting the natural texture of the stone create the sound of trickling water. A natural stone water feature is a beautiful addition to any garden. The combination of a trickling water and crackle of a fire will soothe any stress away.

Add a special touch to your patio wall with some outdoor art

Wall art is not just for indoor walls anymore.  Add a special touch to your patio or garden wall with some outdoor art. We used Will Hyde’s artwork for this wall creating an open air gallery feel, as well as adding another dimension to the space. We also placed clematis vine and trained it on a stainless steel cables to create a window around the art. Vines are not only great to look at, but they definitely serve a purpose. They add height, fullness and color to any garden without taking up ground space.
